The biometric suitcase allows Civil Service employees to record biometrics where the citizens are – also in cases where citizens are unable to come to the Civil Service office.

Biometrikufferten kan ligesom en stationær biometristation tage pasfoto og optage fingeraftryk og underskrift. Forskellen er, at biometrikufferten kan transporteres, så borgeren kan ansøge om pas, kørekort og legitimationskort andre stedet end på Borgerservice-kontoret.
Kommuner vil ofte kræve, at borgeren på forhånd har lavet den indledende ansøgning online via selvbetjening. Det sker for at undgå, at medarbejderne skal håndtere dankort og kontanter og for at have overblik over antallet af bookede henvendelser.
En mobil kuffertløsning kan nemt kobles til kommunens netværk via en krypteret VPN-forbindelse, så den fungerer på samme måde som de stationære biometristationer i sammenhæng med en bærbar PC. På den måde overføres de indsamlede data automatisk til borgerens ansøgning i IT-systemet via en krypteret forbindelse.

Like the fixed biometric station, the biometric suitcase can take passport photos and record fingerprints and signatures. The difference is that the biometric suitcase can be transported, so the citizen can apply for passports, driver’s licences and ID on the spot rather than at the Civil Service office.
Municipalities will often require that the citizen has previously created the initial application online via self-service. This is to avoid the employees having to handle credit cards and cash and to have an overview of the number of booked requests.
It can easily be connected to municipal networks via an encrypted VPN connection, so it works in the same way as the fixed biometric stations in conjunction with a portable PC. In this way, the collected data is automatically transferred to the citizen's application in the IT system via an encrypted connection.

Biometrikufferten bruges af udenrigstjenesten for at servicere borgere, der ellers vil have lang vej til et sted, hvor de kan få indsamlet biometri fra en dansk myndighed.
Den bruges også i danske kommuner til at hjælpe borgere, der ikke kan komme til Borgerservice eller ved særlige arrangementer, hvor mange borgere er samlet.

The biometric suitcase is used by the Danish Foreign Service to serve citizens who would otherwise have a long way to travel to a place where they may have their biometrics collected by a Danish authority.
It is also used in Danish municipalities to help citizens who cannot get to the Civil Service office or at special events, where many citizens are gathered.
